STOP — Verify fitment before ordering: Match Dometic part number 4460000299 and confirm your roof vent is a compatible Midi Heki model. Similar-looking Heki springs use different part numbers and should not be selected by appearance alone.
This Dometic operating-bar spring kit is a replacement service part for compatible Midi Heki RV roof vents. It is intended to restore spring tension in the operating-bar mechanism when the original springs are worn, stretched, damaged, or missing.
Fitment and identification
- Manufacturer: Dometic
- Part number: 4460000299
- Application: Midi Heki roof-vent operating bar
- Package quantity: Two extension springs
Important: Dometic part 9104104064 is a separate Heki Midi spring listing. Do not substitute it for 4460000299 unless Dometic documentation for your exact vent identifies that number.
Possible signs to inspect
- The operating bar has reduced or uneven spring tension
- A spring is visibly stretched, broken, or missing
- The vent mechanism no longer moves as it did with the original springs
These symptoms can also come from other vent components. Inspect the operating-bar mechanism and verify the part number before replacing the springs.
Diagnostic tip
Compare both removed springs with the replacement kit and inspect the attachment points for wear or damage. Note the original hook orientation before removal. Springs store energy; use appropriate eye protection and service procedures, and use a qualified RV technician if you are unsure of the repair.

Frequently asked questions
Will this fit every Dometic Heki roof vent?
No. Heki products use multiple spring designs and part numbers. Confirm both the Midi Heki model and Dometic part number 4460000299.
Can I match this spring by size or appearance?
No. Similar-looking springs may have different tension or hook geometry. Use the manufacturer part number and your vent documentation.
Does the kit include one spring or two?
The package includes two extension springs.
Can I install it myself?
Installation depends on the vent and your experience. Springs store energy, and roof access adds fall risk. Follow the applicable Dometic service instructions or use a qualified RV technician.
